MW's Burning Orange Birthday OOTD

Hey Whirlers,

Everyone loves finding new ways to wear their dresses, and I`m sure many of you have this burnt orange maxi dress from H&M. I always found it was quite difficult to wear alone.

I decided to experiment with it by removing the original string belt it came with and wearing a tan leather waist belt.

I then teamed the dress with a blazer to complete a much more polished look - which is ideal for an evening event, birthday dinner (like I did, or even a date night).

Big cocktail rings and a matching clutch and you`re good to go!

How do you wear your maxi dress?

Dress: H&M
Blazer: Next
Belt: Republic
Clutch: Unkown but from TK Maxx
Accessories: Forever 21 and News Look
Wedges: Guess

MW's Khaki Killa Heels OOTD

Hey Whirlers,

Hope you`re all well.

It was my birthday over the weekend so I had an excuse to dress up (!), I opted for a dipped dress in khaki,  which is currently my favourite colour! I`m loving dipped dresses at the moment, also. They`re perfect for modesty and fab for petite girls, as you won`t trip over the front hem!

What do you think of my outfit?

Dress: Forever21
T-Shirt: H&M
Jacket: Zara
Trousers: New Look
Scarf: eBay
Belt: H&M

MW's Take on Spring Trends 2013

Hi Whirlers,

Hope all are well – you must be, you`ve come onto my blog! ;)

I want to firstly, apologise for taking so long to upload another video! But, I`ve been rather busy and I finally made the time over the Bank Holiday weekend.

This video is how I would incorporate the Spring Trends into my wardrobe. I talk about pastels, corals, bright colours, floral, cobalt blue, military, neutrals and oriental.
There are of course other trends that are big this Spring, such as neons, print trousers and monochrome! Neons and print trousers are literally a no-go zone for me, so I didn`t mention them in the video and monochrome is pretty self-explanatory!

The number one tip for ANY trend for a modest dresser, is that you don`t have to wear the trend head to toe. You can simply hit the trend by wearing it in your accessories! Jewellery, handbags, nail polish, make up, bracelets, sandals, scarves, etc. Ironically enough, I don`t really like having too much attention drawn to myself, so accessories is a huge part of my wardrobe and how I include the trends into my style. So, I follow this tip avidly!

PASTELS
This trend is pretty big this Spring, everywhere you look there is something in a pastel colour. Now, I`m not the most keenest on this trend, simply because, as mentioned in the video, I am more drawn to darker hues, I will incorporate the pastels through my accessories. But, if you like the pastels, then by no means, purchase those mint jeans or rose maxi skirt! I`m sure you`d look fantastic.

CORALS/BRIGHT COLOURS
I used to always wear black, so when I started to get out of my comfort zone and start purchasing bright colours, I kind of liked it. It was always fun to add colour to a black outfit. Again, accessories can play a large part in this trend, especially with a black maxi dress, the coral blazer I show on my video looks great with black! Have a look here when I wore it with a black maxi skirt.

FLORAL
This is another favourite trend of mine, as I think it`s so effortlessly girly. As mentioned in the video, I`m not a fan of wearing the floral blazer or trousers, as I feel that is too much for myself, so I always incorporate the trend through my accessories. Scarves are probably the most simple and ideal way of this trend. Great place to buy floral scarves is Whitechapel Market – I always pick one up when I`m there! I love a cute floral clutch in the Spring, which is perfect for a lunch out with friends. Don`t forget the sheer floral blouses that are in the stores at the moment, with a maxi skirt = cute and modest at the same time. But, of course if you can wear the floral blazer and trousers – then go you!

COBALT BLUE
Love this trend! I never use to be a fan of cobalt blue because it`s such a bright and vibrant colour – but bright colours are growing on me and I`m looking forward to wearing this colour! It can easily be softened down by wearing it with a soft pink, like I have done with this outfit here.

MILITARY
Anything khaki is a win for me! And, as mentioned in the video, it is something that keeps coming back on the catwalk every season. So, I think investing in a few military pieces will keep you going through the next few years. I`m on the hunt for a nice khaki trench coat!

ORIENTAL
This is such a beautiful trend this Spring – not only is it really elegant and delicate its fantastic trying to embrace a different culture into your wardrobe. I showed my interpretation of it really briefly on the video,  with my kimono, but it can be done through wearing sliky/satin floral printed attires, whether it be a jacket or a maxi skirt.

Here is the video:

Please let me know what you think! Is this the sorta video you would want to see? What other types of videos would you like to see?

I do appreciate and take on board feedback, so please do comment and let me know.
Also, further to this, the colour of my fushia skirt/lips hadn`t shown up very well in the video – I promise I am not wearing orange lipstick, hehe.

MW's Swirly Salwar Kameez OOTD

Hey there Whirlers!

Hope all are fantastic!

I`ve been busy recently, but made time to go to a family friend's walima and I wore this cream dipped hem salwar kameez. What do you think of it? It was difficult to find the perfect colour hijab as I didn`t want to wear cream on my head - #firstworldhijabiproblems, eh?

Salwar Kameez: Green St
Shoes: Unze
Hijab: Whitechapel Market
Ring: F21

What do you think of it?

MW's Ethical Evergreen OOTD

Hello Whirlers,

I`ve been MIA, so I apologise for that - I hope all are well and have been chilling (literally, its April and its STILL snowing?!)

Today was graced with some sunshine, so I thought I would share an OOTD with you - to get you into the spring/summer spirit!

Now, I`m sure everyone is aware of the new H&M campaign, which is called the 'Conscious Collection' - it is everywhere from the TV, to magazines to billboards and Vanessa Paradis is the face of the collection - so you can`t have missed it! The concept is basically making clothes out of sustainable material and only H&M would be able to make green clothes look awesome! The collections is made out of organic cotton and recycled polyester - which is great, as going green is the way to go!

The items in this collection are seriously amazing and if I had enough money I would have bought so many more pieces, but this maxi dress (and, a blazer which isn`t in this post) will have to do for now.

Check out the rest of the beautiful pieces on the H&M website.

Here is how I`ve created an outfit with the maxi dress:

What I wore:
Maxi Dress: H&M
Scarf: Red Butterfly
Wedges: Guess
Clutch: Some Italian Brand
Belt: Republic
Accessories: H&M/StreetPrincess

So, what do you think of the outfit? How else would you style the dress? I think next time I`ll be more subtle and wear a beige cardigan.

Have you purchased anything from the collection?

MW's Dusty Pink Date Night OOTD

Hi Whirlers!

I haven`t done an OOTD for a while, so I thought I would do one of those instead of making you suffer hearing my voice, hehe.

So, this is a smart casual outfit that I would probably wear on an evening out with friends or a date night.

I paired a black maxi skirt with a black studded belt and to dress it up I wore a dusty pink with black lapels blazer and matching hue court shoes.

Vest: H&M
Skirt: H&M
Belt: Zara
Blazer: H&M
Hijab: H&M
Shoes: Next
Accessories: H&M

Wow - I shop in H&M too much :/

What do you think? How else would you wear the blazer?

MW's Winter Wonderland OOTD

Whirlers,

Hope you`re all staying safe if you`re faced with snow! Its slightly embarrassing living in Southern England, where a slightest bit of snow we all go into standstill! Anybody else get frustrated with that??

Evidently the camera had to come out with the beautiful scenes around the area!
This is what I wore to face the cold.
I`m not sure why I have my hands on my snood in EVERY photo, I apologise. I must of thought it looked cute haha.

I`m loving my Next overcoat - its so warm, fits like a glove and just perfecto! I love Next because they  are one of the few high street stores that offer petite range and wide fit shoes - which I need both, being 5ft and size 4 wide feet - I`m always buying items from there for my everyday wardrobe. So, when I found this gorgeous camel overcoat - I was TOTALLY ecstatic and put this in my 'shopping basket' ridiculously quickly!
Its perfect because I can wear it casually with my biker boots and I can wear it to work, where I wear smart attire - like I said, perfecto!

T-Shirt - H&M
Trousers - Dorothy Perkins
Overcoat - Next
Boots - New Look
Gloves - John Rocha
Scarf - eBay
Snood - H&M

What are you wearing to stay warm this winter?

MW's Seeing Swallows OOTD

Hey Whirlers,

Hope all are well :)

I did make another video of my recent shopping purchases, but it took ALL day to SAVE, I just dread to know how long it will take to upload on YT! So, I may give it a miss. In the video, I mention my recent obsession with TK Maxx, and I show you the dress in this post as one of my recent purchases.

Its a high low dress, which I think is great for modest fashion! I understand this style is difficult to wear when they`re designed for legs to be exposed, but, worn with slim trousers or a tube maxi skirt, we can create an even better look (as we all know, less is more), a much more sophisticated look - and, lets be frank - we`re much warmer!

So, I paired the dress with slim trousers, heels to add length as I think the dress does need height to pull it off well (due to the dipped hem) and a belt to nip in the waist.

Dress - Tk Maxx (Band of Gypsies)
Trousers - Primark
Underdress - H&M
Shoes - New Look
Belt - F21
Accessories - H&M and F21
Hijab - eBay

What do you think?

MW`s Coral City Lights OOTD

Hello Whirlers :)

I`m a tourist at heart. I love exploring London, especially at night time when the view is amazing. I HAD to take photos and share with you! I went to More Place in London Bridge. I love coming here, its so beautiful. There are restaurants along the river, so you can have dinner with a spectacular view.

Come rain or shine, I will always look for a photo opportunity:

Blazer: Forever 21
Shirt: H&M
Maxi Skirt: H&M
Hijab: Zara
Bag: Zara
Boots: New Look

I absolutely adore Forever 21 blazers. The fit is really good and reasonably priced! I recommend everyone to buy a blazer from Forever 21!! This coral one is current season and really brightens up a dull outfit, which I love.

But, tell me the view is amazing. Because. It. Is. AMAZING.

Haha - tell me your favourite view in London?

MW's Fall/Winter Footwear

Hello Whirlers,

To ensure I get maximum use of my shoes/clothes, every season I choose what are the likely items I`m going to wear. I put them out, so I know what my options are every morning when I get dressed.

I have a theory that if I do this, every season, then I know I am making use of my clothes and not gathering dust in the closet. What I like to tell Mama Mango, is that I`m being economic with my clothes. Plus, its always nice to have you clothes out, so when you`re creating an outfit, its easy to see the options.

This evening I sorted out my fall/winter footwear, and I thought I would share with you:
(click photo to enlarge)

BOOTIES
Booties are PERFECT for the fall/winter where your toes will stay nice and warm! They are also all over the catwalk, so they are big this season! I have kept my open-toed booties out for a short period because I think open-toes are perfect for the transition into winter, so I think I will RINSE these booties until its too cold to wear them.

RIDING BOOTS
I adore riding boots, they are ideal for fall/winter! They go with jeans, even coloured jeans, which is ideal if you want to carry your coloured jeans over into the fall/winter. They go fabulously with midi skirts, which is perfect for a modest dresser, especially as midi skirts are all over the shop floors, so its a perfect excuse to buy midi length skirts.

OXBLOOD
Any footwear that is oxblood/maroon/burgundy - then you are SERIOUSLY on trend this fall/winter. I am absolutely obsessed with this colour and I am buying EVERYTHING that my eyes fall on in these shades - its getting ridiculous now though!

LOAFERS
These are the new ballet pumps, just much more trendy! I love them. Round up outfits so nicely and goes with EVERYTHING - I kid you not! If you prefer to wear flats to heels, then I think tan, black and oxblood hues would be ideal for this season. At least one pair would go with your outfit, you will be comfortable, and more importantly, on trend!

NEUTRALS
These types of footwear NEVER go out of fashion, simply because it is a safe option. I tend to sway to neutral footwear, when I am unsure about which shoes to wear with an outfit. I know I will feel confident in neutral because attention won`t be drawn to the shoes, so it won`t be an issue - does that make sense?

MILITARY BOOTS
I don`t really have military boots simply because its not my style and I`m 5ft, so they don`t really suit me. However, I do have these trendy/edgy/studded boots, which I feel work as a substitute and I would use these to attempt the military trend this fall/winter.

What are you wearing this fall/winter?

MW's Bright Lights and City Lights OOTN

Whirlers,

If you follow my blog, then you will know I went out for dinner with Lilmissrosh earlier this week, where Rosh was kind enough to take photos of my outfit to share with you:
(click photos to enlarge)

I wore black chinos, black shirt and an oversized tailored blazer in hot pink. By keeping the accessories muted, I was able to ensure the hot pink blazer stood out!

OVERSIZED BLAZERS
I am kind of in love with oversized blazers at the moment - I think that`s because its so simple to throw on over an outfit and it will just round it up - and still be on trend! Especially, as I went to dinner straight after work, so needed something office friendly, yet could pass as 'going out' afterwards. To keep it casual, I rolled up the sleeves and ensured my black shirt sleeves were poking out.

Shirt - H&M
Chinos - Zara
Blazer - Forever 21
Clutch - New Look
Shoes - New Look
Belt - Zara
Hijab - eBay

What do you think? Yay or nay for oversized blazers?

MW's Bordeaux Booties OOTD

Whirlers,

Two of my recent purchases, which I am crazy about:

- City Bag - Zara (£49.99)
- Burgundy Booties - New Look (£24.99)

I`m finding any opportunity to wear these:

Tunic - Next
Trousers - Dorothy Perkins
Hijab - eBay

Both are fab items to wear this fall.

I paired these items with a black tunic, black jeans and a black hijab as I wanted all eyes to be drawn to my booties.

BURGUNDY
ANYTHING burgundy, whether it be your shoes, or your lips all the way to your socks, will be a big on-trend movement this season. I`m loving it this fall, simply because burgundy is one of my favourite colours and I already have a few burgundy items in my wardrobe! Although, there is no harm in stocking up on more burgundy items...

STRUCTURED BAGS
Move aside, slouchy hobo bags and make way for structured, rigid big handbags - YAY! I hate slouchy bags, I much prefer structured bags - so am totally loving this trend, too. This bag is GENIUS. It has SO many compartments and keeps everything organised. The interior is burgundy, too!
TOTALLY LOVE.

What do you think? Yay or nay?

xo

MW's Magenta Madness OOTD

Hey Whirlers! :)

How are you all??

A close friend recently got married and I decided was forced into wearing a sari (by the bride), so I thought I`d share the outfit:

What do you guys think?
