MW's Magenta Madness OOTD

Hey Whirlers! :)

How are you all??

A close friend recently got married and I decided was forced into wearing a sari (by the bride), so I thought I`d share the outfit:

MW's Week in Instagram

Whirlers!!

Last week was SO busy, check it out:

1. What I wore on Eid.
2. Eid Mubarak typography I made - did everyone have a good Eid?
3. I took my Mum out to Green St for shopping and, I was COMPLETELY distraught when I saw Mobeen was demolished, so took Mum to the closest restaurant nearby, and I think it was called 'The Steak Grill'?! Somebody correct me if I`m wrong? But, I ordered a lamb steak with mushroom sauce and chips...it was alright. Nothing special, but they did do mocktails, which is always a thumbs up for me!
4. My friend's mendhi outfit! How gorgeous?

MW's Eid Love

Eid Mubarak, guys! May Allah accept your fasts and duas. Remeber the Ummah which is in pain and distress in Burma, Palestine, Syria and anywhere else in the world. Make dua for those who have passed away and may Allah grant relief to those in need. May Allah grant you barakah in this world and in the Akirah.

Love,

MW's Winning Whirler

Salam guys!

Ramadhan is over as is my competition. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that participated. It means so much to me that you took part. I wish I could give a prize to everyone but I'm not rich enough *cryface*

What I was looking for in the winning piece was someone who put a lot of time and thought into their piece, because that's what means a lot to me. You know, the whole effort of sitting there and making the outfit, following all the rules properly, and taking their time on my feedback part, too. I also looked for an outfit that would be inspirational to me, a trend that I wouldn't have usually tried out!

And, of course, an outfit that was me!

So, without much further ado, ther person who submitted this outfit is the winner:

Peaches and Cream

Congratulations!
Winning Whirler, please email me with your address so I can get the goody bag posted to you :)

Other entries I loved included:

It was a tough decision between this outfit and the winning outfit!! I will also send you a prize, so please email me your details, too! :) I loved this outfit because out of all of them, this is the one I`d most likely wear!

Loved this outfit because, her way of wearing a scarf to keep herself modest was different to me and really inspirational! And, I love how she wears her turban!
I love the colour choices in this outfit, as well as hitting a few trends at the moment, peplum tops, coloured jeans and pastel. This outfit has inspired me to find a similar colour skirt and top, just so I can wear this colour combo!

This outfit gets an honorary mention as this was the only entry by a boy! A lot of effort went into this entry, however, due to the swear word, you lose points! :p But, besides that, I`d wear the outfit, except maybe a white blazer to break it up more! :)

I love anything nude and tan! Points for that!

Arghhh!! I totally love this entry! I would sooo wear this outfit, maybe a different blouse, but most definitely an evening outfit. Don`t you just love polyvore and all the fun outfits you can make?! Although, its not very good for your bank account as it only makes you want to buy the outfits!!

Again, congratulations to the Peaches and Cream entry!! :)

Thank you so much to everyone who entered!! I have duly noted the feedback! A few guys mentioned videos. What would you like to see? How would I do it, as I don`t really want to do it on YouTube? Is there another way of doing it? More private way? Where you can only access with a password/link?

Which outfits do you like? Which would you rock and which would you modify?

MW's Week on Instagram

Whirlers!

I used to do 'Snapshot Saturday's but after I went abroad earlier this year, I stopped. But, I think I`ll start doing it again! But, as I`m over on iIstagram and not everyone has it, I thought I would share the photos I upload on that!

So here is last week in photos:

1. I went to Whitechapel and purchased a few scarves from the market. Totally loving them. I`m wearing the teal one right now.
2. A couple of primary school friends were in the village on Friday evening, so I went and saw them to catch up, I noticed one friends nails, and thought they were TOTALLY cute and so Team GB inspired!
3. My neglected drawer at work due to Ramadhan! But, can you believe only a week left?? This blessed month takes so long to come, but leaves us soooo quickly! :(
4. Haha, I thought I`d add my face. This is a pouty/sad face as I arrived at work and realised I wasn`t wearing any bronzer!! *sadtimes*

How was your week?

xo

P.S. I tweeted yesterday I wouldn`t post until after Eid, whoops. I lied.

P.S. 1. My blog giveaway ends tomorrow at 10.45pm. Have you entered? If not, do so here.

MW Goodies: Lucy Arts Eid Cards

Salam Whirlers!

Eid is nearly upon us, so what does that mean?? Yes, new outfits, lots of yummy desserts, Eid cards, gifts, decorations and family time. To get into the spirit, I approached Lucy Arts and ordered a few Eid cards to send to my beloveds.

Lucy Arts is an Arabic Calligraphy business by Lucy K from London. She creates, as well as greeting cards, in my opinion, the most magnificent canvases. She is a talented young lady, who besides studying is slowly developing her business, masha`Allah.

I have yet to purchase a canvas for myself, so until then I am satisfying myself with her beautiful Eid cards, which I just had to share with you:

I adore packagings. The extra effort shows the extra mile they will go for their customer, which is exactly what Lucy did.
The Eid cards. She has plenty of different designs, but I absolutely adored the corner paisley designs.
Along with the cards, you can also order matching envelopes.

Lucy Arts business cards
I ordered these cards on a Thursday afternoon, and received them on a Saturday morning. This is amazing as I DO love a fast and efficient service! So, that was definitely a perk for me.

Another perk for me was the price, 5 cards with envelopes came to £12.50! Can you believe it was so cheap? In total, I WILL pay £14.39 (inc. p&p). (I haven`t paid yet, but I will, Lucy!!)

The inside is left blank for you to write you own message, which is great, but it can be a small issue when you have ordered dark cards, where your normal black/blue ink won`t be visible. This means, I have to purchase a gold pen to write my Eid message in. Or, I could sew in a thin piece of white paper, add a verse from the Qur`an and write my message in normal ink. This just means, a little more work on my side, which is not a big deal, but I live in the middle of nowhere, so resources are limited. I hope there is a gold pen somewhere on the high street! But, besides this small issue, I am absolutely in love with these Eid cards!! I will order again in the future and I will have my gold pen ready!

Another issue I have just discovered, again a small issue, which can easily be resolved by Lucy. The beautiful paisley design in the top right corner would be covered by the stamp. *sadface* Why would you want to cover that?! I`m really sad that I might have to cover it, or just put the stamp next to it, but I don`t really want the Post Office people to put their horrible black stamp all over it :(
So, Lucy, if you`re reading this, maybe have the paisley designs on opposite corners? This might not be an issue for other people, but I`m seriously OCD and I`d need everything to be perfect! And, again why would you want to hide your talent on the envelope?!

If you like these Eid cards, then you will love her other projects, which you can check out on her Facebook page.

So, check it out, contact her, and be amazed by her talent, masha`Allah.

MW Goodies: Street Princess Jewellery

Hey Whirlers,

How are you all? I recently purchased some goodies from Street Princess, which I`m very excited about! Especially as I had my eye on  a 'Ellie' bracelet for a while.

Let me give you the lowdown on Street Princess. An online jewellery boutique where the Princess is Naheeda, a wonderful chick that I had the pleasure to meet a few months ago at a bloggers meet up in London. Naheeda takes great pride in her work, and it is reflected in the end product where her bracelets are all handmade and are perfect, masha`Allah. She initially did a whole range of jewellery, but is now focussing on her handmade bracelets for a short period. That explains why her rings and necklaces are in the amazing blog sale over on her blog.

I was given the opportunity to purchase a few goodies from Street Princess with 50% discount, and here are the pictures of my purchase:
I`m a sucker for cute packaging. It shows effort and pride in their work, and most importantly, wanting to put a smile on their customers face. Orgazana pouches and little card boxes that are filled with treasures.

Here is a close-up of the packaging. There are mini crowns on one side of the box, which signifies the princess in the name. Totally cute, creative and a lot of thought has gone into the packaging. My bracelets came in this, where it was further wrapped in pink tissue paper to protect the bracelet inside the box.
A further close-up of the packaging. This is the other side of the box, showing the logo of Street Princess. Again, much thought as gone into the whole image of the product as a whole.

With the products, I was give a post card from Naheeda with a personal message. I told you I`m a sucker for cute packaging and the extra effort into putting a smile on your customers face!

'Bow' ring - £2
This was purchased from the blog sale. How cute is this ring? This ring is perfect for me, with chubby fingers, as the ring is expandable.
Riley in Red/Gold
An example of how perfectly made this bracelet is by Naheeda.
Ellie in Nude
This is my favourite product from the purchase! I love elephants.
This bracelet is JUST TOOOOO CUTE!!! I took more photos of this bracelet as I loved it too much!

Another personal touch by Street Princess is to have SP on the ends of the bracelet to stop the bracelet falling off.
It took me a while to get used to this extra weight, and had to be careful not to let it fall into my food,
but again, reflecting the personal touches to Naheeda's work.

I did actually purchase another item, a tribal necklace in antique gold, but when I was taking photos the necklace was sitting in my new necklace board and I was too lazy to go upstairs and bring it down! But, that necklace is also very pretty!!

I think the amount of time and effort Naheeda puts into her jewellery is amazing and truly reflects it in the end product. She has nailed the personal touches, the handmade bracelets are flawless and she has created truly amazing packaging to go with her jewellery, surely to leave her customers with a smile on their face.

If you liked any of these products, please do check her out on:

or, if you have any queries, do email her!

So, what do you guys think? Isn`t the Ellie bracelet just amaze?!

MW's DIY: Necklace Board

Hey Whirlers!

Hope you`re all well and have entered my blog giveaway!

On with the post:

As a hijabi, I love wearing long necklaces as its perfect to show after my hijab has covered my chest, so I tend to buy a few, but they always get tangled up and I totally got fed up one day and I took a few pics to share with you on how I tackled this problem:

So, how did I resolve this?!

I actually lied, after I had edited this photo I had a look at the packet and it was 70p for 6 hooks.

I laid the board on a large flat surface (floor) and I laid the necklaces on the board, thinking, where it would look nice, etc. For shorter statement necklaces, I marked two hooks, so the shape could remain on the board, as you can see in the photos.

A nice and simple DIY that only took 5 minutes. You can obviously use different colour boards, but I already had a red lying around. If I really wanted to get rid of the red, I`d probably cover it with a cute material and reinsert the hooks.

If you put a lot of effort into your board and made it super pretty, it could easily be a feature in your room!

How do you store your necklaces?

MW Goodies: Primark Pickings

Hello Whirlers!

How is everyone's ramadhan coming along? I`m currently at work on my lunch break and blogging! I`m not eating so I might as well use the hour productively.

Oh, also, I`m going into town more, which isn`t good for my bank account, as I keep buying goodies!!

I popped into Primark and spent a total of £19.00!! And, managed to nab all these bargains!!

1. Scarf.
I think its maxi. Its also really lightweight, so perfect at the moment when we have those summer  moments randomly. Only thing, I don`t like about it is that its really flat, I like scarves that stay looking quite big/volumised. I might have to iron it by running some starch through it, to keep a more structure to the scarf. I hope that makes sense, as I could be talking jibberish due to lack of food!

2. Shirt
I`ve been after a burgundy shirt for a while, and I`ve only started noticing the colour in the autumn/winter catalogues! So, when I saw this shirt on a girl's instagram picture, I had to go out and purchase it!! I absolutely love it! Cannot wait to start wearing it and trying to find loads of new outfits to wear with it. Also, it was a bargain at £3!!! AMAZEBALLS.

3. Jeans
Coloured jeans, another item I`ve been after for a while, and more specifically in burgundy! In this photo, I only included the teal pair, but I did also purchase a burgundy pair. I bought a couple sizes too big, just so it would be comfortable to pray wearing them. I`ve only tried them on so far, they seem really nice. But, again, another two items I cannot wait to mix and match with the rest of my wardrobe.

4. Necklace
I`ve been collecting this type of necklaces, but I have yet been able to wear them out, SIMPLY because I don`t know how to wear it nicely with a scarf!! Can anybody help me? Link me to a youtube video or something?! *cryface*

6. Bracelet
On sale at 50p, couldn`t say no, eh?

Do you like my purchases? Have you recently purchased anything from Primark?

xo

P.S. Have you entered my giveaway yet? Ends two weeks tomorrow!!
