MW's Tries Dim Sum

Whirlers!!

I hope everyone is well and totally enjoying the sun, like me, sitting in the garden and soaking up the vitamin D's! lol.

Anyway, on with the post. I went to London with a few of my Uni friends and I tried Dim Sum for the first time!! It was different, slimy, but surprisingly, filling?! The day was REALLY nice and the company was fab! We strolled through Oxford Street, browsed a few shops, we ate Dim Sum at Ping Pong down Goodge Street and then, we went back up to Marble Arch/Hyde Park and just chilled.

Our dim sum. You can see me attempting to
use the chopsticks. Not bad, eh? lol
Mocktails, duh!! The one on the right was mine, and
OBVIOUSLY had mango juice in it!
This is a good friend of mine, she hates the camera and you
can kind of see the interior of Ping Pong in the background!
We went into the Shoe Gallery at Selfridges&Co and, I had to stroll into
Louboutin World with their anniversary this year! And, this was one of the special
shoes for the anniversary. Erm, not really to my taste though lol.
Me at Hyde Park.
Some jellybean statue in Marble Arch.
Us girls, posing as usual.
I love this pic, we found a really nice water fountain and HAD to pose it up lol.
Me and the bff lol.
I wore:
Long white tee - H&M
Fuschia maxi skirt - Tailor-made from Dhaka
Denim Jacket - Zara
Sandals - Zara
Handbag - Zara
Scarf - Green St

Have any of you tried dim sum? If not, would you want to? :)

MW's Travel Snaps: Brighton

Whirlers!

I had a day out with two friends of mine in Brighton and it was so much fun!! We went on the Brighton Eye (a smaller and faster version of the London Eye, it was £8 a ticket, I probably would not go on it again, though as I felt the capsule itself wasn`t that great, so pictures didn`t turn out very nice), then the pier - where we had hot fresh donuts (mmm), followed by a browse in shops, then we had lunch in a Thai restaurant...and finally, we went to the beach to catch the sunset. Awesome day!!

Here are a few snaps from the day! Enjoy!

Me sitting inside the capsule of the Brighton Eye.
The view from inside the capsule inside the Brighton Eye.

My friend on the seafront.
Me with an elephant, another BFF from the day, met in the restaurant.

My friend not happy she got mushroom soup.
Beautiful sunset view of Brighton Seafront.
Another beautiful view of the Seafront.
Me on the beach.

And, she listened and saw the beauty! ;)
I wore:

MW's Obsession with Christian Dior at PFW

Paris Fashion Week 2012 showcased the Christian Dior Fall 2012 collection, through the designer Bill Gaytten. The collection oozed femininity, pastels, ballerina-esque styles and purples. Christian Dior is one of my favourite designers and this year they have not let me down, again. I absolutely love this collection and its something that can be easily implemented on a day-to-day basis...and, lets not forget, these trends are hijab friendly.

Here are a few snaps from the collection that caught my attention:

1. CHUNKY ANKLE STRAPPY HEELS
Images courtesy of Vogue.com
How gorgeous are these shoes?! I`m SO in love with them. The shoes have a ballerina look, with the straps and pump toes. The chunky heels is a MASSIVE trend this year and are very practical for a lady who likes to wear heels and be glamourous, as chunkier heels are easier to walk in than stiletto heels. So, if you`re on the hunt for a new pair of heels, opt for chunky heels and be ahead of the crowds and get the trend going.

2. FULL SKIRTS

The fuller skirt was ALL over the Chrirstian Dior catwalk, and I can see WHY! Its SO beyond beautiful and feminine. The textures are BEAUTIFUL. Notice how those ankle strap heels look like ballet shoes from the front? I think these skirts are so modest and ideal for a hijabi. Imagine, a maxi skirt, with a nice blouse tucked in and some ballet pumps and you would most definitely be hitting this trend. Obviously, we wouldn`t wear something as sheer as this, but make sure you watch out for fuller skirts on the high-street soon.

3. SIMPLE BLAZERS NIPPED IN

Okay, anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE blazers. So, imagine my face when I saw blazers on the catwalk! The blazers in the collection all had simple soft cuts and were ALL nipped in with a waist belt. I think this look is easily accessible for an everyday wear, especially with a nice pleated skirt and you will most definitely look gorgeous. So, make sure you whack on a nice waist cinching belt this season to achieve this simple, yet chic look.

I also have to add, I`m loving the pastel, dusty pink, feminine colours in this collection. I love it and it is approachable, because it is subtle and will give many girls confidence to stay on trend with such a soft colour palette.

4. PURPLES

Purples. Any hue of it, whether it be pastel, aubergine, violet or lavender, you will most certainly be on trend.  This colour is such a gorgeous colour and I`m currently obsessed with it, so I did a little squeal when I saw it on the catwalk. I mean, check out that middle image. How approachable is that look? And, SERIOUSLY hijab friendly! Just replace the midi skirt with a maxi skirt and you're perfect. I absolutely LOVE the aubergine jumper, I will most definitely be on the hunt for something similar.

5. NUDE AND FRESH
An obsession of ANY collection cannot be done without checking out the make up and hair, and Christian Dior have made it approachable with barely there, fresh faces, full eyebrows, neutral colours, side partings and low ponytails. So, if you want a new look for the year ahead. try filling in your eyebrows, looking dewy and fresh-eyed and you will most definitely be on trend.

I`m totally sold on this collection. I love everything about it and will definitely try and incorporate some of these trends into my own style as everything is approachable. So, when you`re out shopping for new clothes, think feminine, ballerina, dusty pink, purples and anything soft, and you will definitely be on trend. ;)

What do you think? Do you like anything from this collection?

MW's Travel Snaps: Bangladesh

So, I went to Bangladesh and here are a few snaps! :)

1. Shahid Minar

 2. Lal Bagh Kella

3. Sheikh Mujib Statue around Dhaka University

 4. Freedom Fighters Statue around Dhaka University

5. AdventureLand

6. Parliament

- I think you can tell, I absolutely ADORED Lal Bagh Kella and absolutely loved taking pictures of it from all different angles. This fort has amazing history. It was originally built for the King's beloved wife, but they were unable to complete it, and they had used it to protect themselves
- I was really honoured to FINALLY go to the Shahid Minar and pay my respects to the students who sacrificed their lives for the language of Bangla.
- AdventureLand was a SHOCKINGLY bad amusement park, I would NOT waste money there lol.

Have any of you Whirlers been to Bangladesh?

MW's LUSTLIST: Marni for H&M

Another designer collaboration with the high street label, H&M and let me just tell you, it IS gorgeous, AGAIN. I caught the E! News footage of the collection in America and the celebs rocked the clothes fabulously!

Marni is an Italian fashion label which was created in 1994, by Consuelo Castiglioni and there are a number of boutiques globally.

Again, the aim of these collaborations done by H&M, are for high street junkies to be able to afford the more high-end products, which they would not usually be able to purchase.

Here is a collection of the clothes/bags that I love:
£59.99
This colour is HOT for this spring/summer fashion world and I`ll be honest, I`m a sucker for tan coloured handbags. They go with ANY outfit, especially in the spring/summer. Plus, its HUGE. I love big bags!

£69.99
This is BEAUTIFULLLLL. I love it. I love the structure, the cut, the collar, everything. Its also a great colour, which I adore. To 'hijabify' this I would wear it with a long sleeve tshirt in the same colour and, I`d wear the same colour slim fit trousers/jeans with tan coloured wedges and the bag above!

£59.99
This dress hits the colour block trend perfectly and Frieda Pinto wore it very nicely, well, except the socks, that was too much, but in her defence, she was feeling cold (lol). She added a Marni belt (£9.99) to add structure to the outfit.

£29.99
This bag is TOO cute, and I don`t think anything else needs to be said about it.
£69.99
Gosh, I LOVEEEEE this shirt! It hits the pyjama`s trend for this spring/summer! I love how there are pockets at the bottom, which will be seen as the hijab won`t be covering it.
I`d wear this shirt with black trousers, black court shoes, black hijab and a red oversized clutch.

What did you like from the collection?

MW's Fashion Mood Board

Whirlers!

I`m always flicking through magazines and whenever I find anything I like/could possibly pull off/hijab friendly, I tear it out of the magazine and pop it on my fashion mood board. And, then when I need inspiration for a new outfit, I just have a look at this and try and get creative.

I`ve been doing this for a little while now and I love it. I want a bigger one and actually put it on the wall, but Mama will say no, no doubt :( but, I definitely think its a good idea to put ideas on one place for inspiration!

Does anybody else have a similar concept in their room? I think theres an online version isn`t there? Pinterest, or something? Link me to your boards!!

MW's 3 Ways To Wear: Blazer

Hey Whirlers!!

Sorry, I`ve been MIA! Been lazy and no motivation, or as my bbloggers say, I had lost my 'bojo'!

But, here we go:

3 Ways To Wear: Blazer

A blazer is the probably one of the most versatile item of clothing someone can have in their wardrobe. You can dress it up and down. I have chosen to show you: formal, casual and ladies lunch.

 1. FORMAL
Tailored trousers, a pussybow blouse, an animal print shirt, anything that you would be able to wear into the office, throw on a blazer and the entire look has rounded up. Throw on some high heels and this look can be worn into work, job interview or anywhere nice.

Blouse - Vero Moda
Long Vest - H&M
Trousers - Zara
Blazer - H&M
Bag - ALDO
Accessories - H&M

2. CASUAL
I love wearing my comfy, colourful clothes and throwing on a blazer to complete the look. In this photo I have worn a pink long sleeve t-shirt, slim fit blue jeans, brown pumps and bag and this oversized abstract scarf that I`ve worn as a snood to complete the casual look. Why don`t you wear your usual casual clothes and see how much cuter it looks with a blazer on top?

Abstract Scarf - Monsoon
Pink Tee - H&M
Long Vest - H&M
Blazer - H&M
Jeans - H&M
Pumps - H&M
Bag - Zara
Accessories - H&M

3. LADIES LUNCH
We all love going out for meals with our friends and we want to wear something cute yet comfy. So, I`ve worn an oversized nude t-shirt, skinny jeans, black court shoes and a nude clutch...and, the blazer just adds a little smartness to the simple outfit, making it perfect to go eat at a nice restaurant for lunch and mocktails!!

Oversized Tee - H&M
Blazer - Zara
Shoes - Kurt Geiger
Clutch - New Look
Accessories - H&M

These looks can all be done with different colours of blazers, too, obviously. So, have fun and throw on a blazer over your already cute outfit and watch it come together.

P.S. Pastel/nude/bright coloured blazers are HOT this spring/summer. Invest in one!
